I qualified as a psychodynamic counsellor after completing the Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling at the Garnethill Centre here in Glasgow. Since then I have been practising as a fully qualified COSCA registered counsellor. In my work I have dealt with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement and anger. Throughout my life I have always been interested in how people find meaning in their lives and in their experiences. For me this question of meaning is central to working with people in a counselling context. Often emotional difficulties such as depression and bereavement are about a loss of meaning in a person’s life. The work I do is about helping people rediscover meaning in their life and find their voice. This may mean exploring and addressing traumatic experiences in their past. Throughout my life I have been interested in helping people grow into living larger, more fulfilling lives.
I felt that I could talk to you and that you really listened to me.
You showed real insight into how I was feeling.
I felt happier in my work and in my relationship after these sessions with you.
