Clinical Hypnotherapist
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, I work with adults and young people in a therapeutic, confidential and supportive environment. During a session we access and build upon your inner strengths and resources to create a new sense of wellbeing. Throughout my 14 years’ professional experience as a hypnotherapist I have supported clients at Gartnavel General Hospital, Cancer Support Scotland, Melanoma Action and Support Scotland, Possilpark Health Centre, BBC Scotland, ICAP (Immigrant Counselling and Psychotherapy) and holistic therapy clinics. I have been involved with children’s charities for almost 30 years in different capacities, including as a counsellor with Childline, and work with children as young as seven years old using gentle, adapted hypnotherapy techniques.
With experience and training in counselling support, mindfulness, EMDR and EFT, I also incorporate other therapies into the sessions where beneficial. Further details of all therapies and how they can help you, can be found on my website. I am a full member of my professional body, the BSCH, which means that I adhere to their code of guidelines, ethics and professional development training. Personal interest has led me to focus on further training in cancer support as well as specialist qualifications in The Fertile Body Method, which supports holistic fertility enhancement.
One of the most important things for a new client to know however, is that you will be treated with warmth and respect as we focus on bringing your life into balance.
I was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma skin cancer in November 2015, which was a huge shock. Amanda has been a great support, helping me work through things emotionally. I find hypnotherapy extremely beneficial and so I returned to see Amanda this year for my marriage break down and death of my grandfather, finding our sessions very rewarding as my self-worth and self-esteem grow as I try to move on. I would recommend anyone to Amanda and the benefits of hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy with Amanda has been invaluable in helping me deal with both cancer and Young Onset Parkinson's Disease. Relaxation is very important and our sessions are certainly relaxing, enabling me to talk freely in an open environment. She is always happy to listen and provides a great deal of positive advice and guidance.
She also provides me with the tools to make coping more manageable and our discussions help me think outside the box and deal with whatever my life/conditions throw at me. I am so much more positive after my visits! She has made a huge difference to my life and ability to cope, which not only helps me, but also those around me.
