Colin Gavigan | Person Centred Counsellor

Colin Gavigan

Person Centred Counsellor

My 35 year therapeutic practice began by working in charities, where I supported people, individually and in groups, who were homeless, living with addictions and maintaining their recovery.

I also worked as a therapist with men in Scottish prisons.

I formally trained as a Person Centred Counsellor, 20 years ago. I chose this approach because it fitted with my personal values and beliefs about people that 'individuals have the innate ability to unravel their own issues, with support'.

5 years ago (2017) I co-founded an International therapeutic practice with my wife, called ‘Brave Your Day’ to offer accessible, affordable and pro-bono therapy support to people at all stages of their lives, in the community and within organisations.

This daily work encourages me to live my life consciously with integrity, whilst continually learning from my clients to bravely reflect, question and challenge myself.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling   Psychotherapy.
